whatever your needs.

We launched Heat Scheme with a simple premise. That everyone should have access to impartial support with home improvements to improve comfort, reduce costs and emissions, and to reduce avoidable mistakes.
Having personally been involved with the design and project management of over 40 refurbishments around the world - from studio flats to enormous mansions - I’ve seen first hand the issues that can arise when you don’t get it right from the beginning, and that’s why I’m so passionate about providing this support service to you.
We’re always on your side : we’ve been greatly inspired by the fabulous work that Martin Lewis at the Money Saving Expert has done over the years to help consumers save money and make informed decisions. Our mission at Heat Scheme brings the same ethic to your home, helping you to save money, switch to clean energy, and make informed decisions on value-adding home improvements.
Now available to over 375,000 staff across the UK!
With best wishes
Patrick Dougherty
Founder, Heat Scheme
As a business, we need to make money to provide this service to you. This is why we may (but not always) receive a commission from a tradesperson that we introduce you to, from an affiliate link to a product that we may recommend to you and from other sources such as upselling services to you (such as the comprehensive call service) and your employer (such as onsite events, webinars and loan services).
However, we will never take commission from or recommend products or services that we don’t believe in, and we will also positively recommend products and services that we love, even where we don’t receive a commission.
As we’re always on your side, we’re focused on bringing you low-cost clean energy and simple money-saving and value-adding home improvements. Regardless of whether you’re in central London, Llandudno or the Outer Hebrides, and whether you’re in a studio flat, terraced house or detached villa, we tailor our guidance to your home, your needs and above all you.
And we’re with you throughout your home journey. From providing support where something’s not gone quite right with an installation (while we are not party to any contract between you and an installer, we will endeavour to help you sort out any problems) to providing an optional installation hand-holding service, we’re available to you from researching a potential home purchase, installing a cheap, clean energy solution and to planning a full refurbishment.
So when you book a service or product through us, you’ll not be on your own.
We’re on a journey to make home improvements and cheap, clean energy simple to understand and easy to adopt. If you would like a simpler way to improve and look after your home over time, join us on our journey and we will travel together.
One of the special aspects of Heat Scheme is the way in which we choose which contractors and installers to work with. Unlike almost all other web platforms online, we are really selective about the type of installer we work with. Beyond requiring that they have relevant certifications and insurance, we ensure that there is an alternative route to resolve any issue, to the extent that an original contractor is not prepared to do so. Usually that means that we expect there to be a layer of management at the installing company, rather than just a sole trader.
And of course our follow-up service is always available to you to the extent that an installation has not gone quite right (while we are not party to any contract between you and an installer, we will endeavour to help you sort out any problems).
We want everyone to have access to cheap, clean energy. Our scheme for making this happen - customised home guidance for low cost heating and dependable installers - is what gives our business its name: Heat Scheme.
These days a lot of our work with customers revolves around offering other simple money-saving and value-adding home improvements. We could change our name to reflect that, but somehow Heat Scheme has stuck. What do you think?
How often do you think “I wish I’d known that before I started”? That’s the rationale for our “Speak with Heat Scheme” service: to help you avoid making costly mistakes.
Asking an installer for guidance who also wants to sell you his solution may or may not give you the best guidance, given the inherent conflict of interest. Use our independent voice and guidance to make informed decisions about the way forwards for your home improvements.
We’ve got individual members in our team that have previously designed and project managed over 40 refurbishments of flats and houses, who bring that enormous experience and insight to you during your consultation to help you make an informed decision for your home improvement. Similarly we have team members that are specialists in advising on installing low cost, clean heating solutions.
Through our Little Black Book, we also complement the skill sets of the Heat Scheme team with talented third party professionals at competitive pricing - so whether you want to knock down a wall (structural engineer, possible planning or listed building consent) or want to install a new kitchen (kitchen specialist and designer), a short call with a specialist will help get your project right at the outset. If you then decide that you want these pros involved in the project going forwards that can be simply arranged.
